L Y O N

Murau... :-) Also perfekt!

Goodbye New Jersey, Good Bye Summer...

My last days in NJ were quite okay, it was a nice feeling to be still there, knowing I don't have to work there any longer but can still enjoy the last hours of my "American life".

Friday night, we had a very nice family BBQ at our house together with the O'Shaughnessys. It was really nice to be together with all of our cute kids and the two couples, and the food was just perfect. Especially the dessert was delicious, I will never forget the great "chocolate fondue" we had: many many different fruits and biscuits to dip into hot creamy chocolate......mmmmmmm!!

Saturday night, Michaela and me wanted to spend one last time in NYC, visiting Webster Hall. The way there was a bit complicated (and wet. . .) but we finally got there and had a great time getting to know people and drinking (illegally of course, but thanks to Schoko) and dancing on 5 floors with cool music...

Sunday at noon, Brad drove me to Newark Int'l Airport, from where I left the US to London Heathrow at 3 o'clock. I was so happy when I got onto the plane, but of course it was also quite sad to have everything behind me, as I was so much looking forward to this summer and my Au Pair job. However, I went home with a lot of great and unfortgetteable memories of a summer full of sunshine, kids' laughing, a funny (sometimes odd?) family and a lot of trips to new and interesting places AND a digital camera, which was Brad and Kathleen's (surprising) "goodbye-present"!!!

After I had missed my connection flight in London, where I consequently had to wait for about 4 hours, I was a bit "fertig" but finally arrived safe and sound in Vienna where I was picked up by my parents at the airport!

The first thing we did was to stop at a "Billa" to buy something to eat and drink for me (as I couldn't bring my heissgeliebte water bottle on board of the plane) and later on had another stop in Gloggnitz, which was the most exotic place you can imagine at all after being in NYC and Philadelphia for 2 months... lol... there, we had ice cream and coffee in the beautiful fall sun and I have to admit I truly enjoyed the Austrian ambiance!

Photho Shooting

Yesterday, we did a little photo shooting with Sharon O'Shaughnessy, who wants to be a profesional photographer.... it was really a very funny time, I've never done that before at all, and at least some of the pics look quite nice ; )
